With the Portal you can customize your gene panels with real-time feedback about which genes are most suitable for a MERFISH measurement. The Portal guides you through each step, making the entire process simple and easy.

The Vizgen Gene Panel Design Portal enables you to easily design custom MERFISH gene panels for a broad range of organisms and tissue types, refine gene lists with comprehensive tools, and request quotes for panels and MERSCOPE® Platform consumables. Additionally, you can access MERSCOPE resources directly in the Portal.
Designing a gene panel involves researching and selecting a set of genes that are relevant to your biological question of interest. The Gene List Tool enables users to add genes of interest to the MERFISH panel and provides real-time feedback to ensure the gene list meets experimental criteria. Genes can be added manually, or lists can be uploaded as a .CSV file.
The Panel Composition Tool enables you to compare a designed MERFISH panel with gene set libraries targeting different applications such as cell typing, investigating biological pathways, and studying specific diseases. We include gene set libraries from popular public repositories such as KEGG, Reactome, MSigDB, PanglaoDB, and CellMarker for you to search and compare. The Panel Composition Tool provides comprehensive annotations for genes in the listed libraries. The Sort/Cluster function highlights important genes or target areas and identifies biological patterns.
Once a MERFISH gene panel design is done, you review and finalize the details before requesting a quote. The system will assist you with selecting MERSCOPE Reagents and Consumables. Multiple MERFISH panels can be ordered in the same quote. After a quote is submitted, a member of the Vizgen sales team contacts you to confirm and place the order.
